Ron Davis is in his sixth year at Oregon State University, serving as the program's director of operations. Davis came to OSU in 1999 with former head coach Dennis Erickson.
Davis' responsibilities include team travel, which entails flight, hotel and meal arrangements. He also develops and monitors the football program's budget, handles lettermen relations and is the program's National Football League liaison. In addition, Davis is the director of the program's summer camp and coaches clinic, and is the coordinator for the team's bowl game arrangements.
Davis began his professional career in 1986 as a graduate assistant for Jim Walden at Washington State University and he served in the same role in 1987 under Erickson. While at WSU he worked as an administrative assistant and helped coach the Cougars' defensive backs and special teams.
The Pullman, Wash., native joined the staff of the University of British Columbia in 1989 as defensive coordinator, before returning to WSU as the program's recruiting coordinator through June of 1991. In the summer of 1991 he was promoted to assistant to the athletic director.
In 1994 Davis was promoted to director of marketing and promotions for the WSU athletic department, and in 1996 was promoted to assistant athletic director. His duties in his new role included supervision of marketing and promotions, athletic development, ticket operations, media information and relations, and the Cougar Mania corporate marketing program.
Davis left WSU in 1998 to rejoin Erickson with the Seattle Seahawks as the football systems coordinator under Randy Mueller, the organization's vice president for football operations. His role with the Seahawks included assistant training camp director, special teams quality control, salary cap monitoring and management, and football operations.
Davis is a 1986 graduate of WSU with a bachelor's degree in social studies, and he earned his master's in education from WSU in 1989.
Davis was a standout prep athlete, earning two letters in football (QB) and two in baseball (OF) at Pullman High School.
Ron and his wife Sharron have four children, Ryan, Kyle, Cody and Kelsey.
