OSU--(1999-Senior)--After playing behind Brian Rogers the past two years at strong linebacker, Micah steps to the front line in 1999...has played in 28 career games and started one game, as a junior against California when he posted a career best 56 points on 16 tackles and 2 sacks...has 290 career defensive points to his credit, including 53 solo tackles, 31 assisted tackles, 4 sacks and 9 tackles for loss...has been regarded by teammates the past two years as the hardest hitter on the football team...Micah played the best football of his career during spring drills and served notice he is ready for a big year...gives OSU more speed at the strong linebacker position than it had with Rogers as a starter...in addition to being a big hitter, Micah is a strong pass defender...in the weight room, Micah has recorded personal bests of 299 pounds in the hang clean, 415 in bench press, 470 in the back squat and 350 in the incline...his vertical jump best is 33.00 inches and his body fat is only 7.08 percent.
(1998-Junior)--Micah went through the winter conditioning program at full strength and reported to spring drills at full strength...was listed as the No. 2 strong linebacker behind Brian Rogers at the start of the spring and when spring drills concluded...OSU might very well have had the strongest one-two punch in the league at strong linebacker in Rogers and Moore in 1998...both players are capable of being all-star players...Micah has outstanding speed, he is strong and he has a nose for the football...he is a former running back with a defensive mentality...Micah played in all 11 games for OSU in 1998 and got his first collegiate start against California (10/31) when Rogers was out with an injury...Micah responded in his first start with the best game of his career, posting 56 defensive points, second best in the game by a Beaver player...Micah had 12 solo tackles, 4 assisted tackles for 16 total...had 2 sacks and 2 tackles for loss...during the season he recorded 11 points vs. Nevada (9/5); 19 against Baylor (9/12); 6 vs. USC (9/19); posted a season low 1 point in road games at ASU (9/26) and Utah State (10/3); 18 points at Stanford (10/10); 11 points at home against Arizona (10/17); 21 at Washington (10/24); 3 vs. UCLA (11/7); and 20 vs. Oregon (11/21)...Micah had 30 solo tackles, 15 assisted tackles, 4 sacks, 6 tackles for loss, 2 passes broken up and a recovered fumble...had 167 total defensive points, ninth best on the team...made some huge plays on defense in overtime periods in double overtime victory over Oregon.
(1997-Sophomore)--Micah played in six games in 1997 as a knee injury sidelined him for five games from the UCLA through USC games...missed five games with a left knee MCL sprain...despite missing five games, Micah registered 87 defensive points, 14th best among OSU defenders, while playing as a backup to Brian Rogers at strong linebacker...he was able to register 18 solo tackles, 8 assisted tackles, 2 tackles for loss and caused a fumble and recovered a fumble...Micah established himself as a player with a very bright future at linebacker for Oregon State following spring drills...with sprinter's speed and toughness to match, he is an ideal linebacker...the OSU coaching staff thought so much of Micah during winter conditioning that they installed him as the No. 1 strong linebacker on the depth chart heading into spring drills...he was very productive during the spring and showed that he would be a solid player for the Beavers in the fall...completed spring drills as the No. 2 strong linebacker behind Brian Rogers, who started at the position in 1996.
(1996-Redshirt Freshman)--Micah went into spring drills as the No. 3 fullback...enjoyed a good spring at fullback and was No. 2 on the depth chart when spring drills were completed...following spring drills, the OSU coaching staff decided to move Micah to middle linebacker to give the Beavers more depth in that position...the OSU staff felt Micah would be more valuable to the squad on defense and would likely be on the field faster...Micah played defense in high school, but he had not played on defense since arriving at OSU...despite not having played on the defensive side of the ball since he had arrived at OSU, he adapted quickly to his new role and Micah wound up playing in all 11 games in 1996, participating in a total of 273 plays as a backup linebacker and special teams player.
(1995-Freshman)--Micah spent the 1995 season as a redshirt fullback.
SOUTH MOUNTAIN HIGH SCHOOL, Phoenix, AZ (1994)--Micah ran 4.55 in the 40 his senior year at South Mountain High School...played one year at South Mountain High School (Jaguars) and for Coach Cleveland Dansby after transferring from North High School in Phoenix...South Mountain was 12-1 in 1994 and lost in the state semifinals to eventual state 5A champion Horizon High School...Micah earned first-team all-metro honors his senior year as a fullback and honorable mention all-state...rushed for 827 yards on 85 carries, an average of 9.7 yards per carry, and 13 touchdowns his senior year...caught 9 passes for 168 yards...Micah also played strong safety on defense...before transferring to South Mountain, Micah rushed for 850 yards his junior year and 650 yards his sophomore year and 700 his freshman year, all at North High School...earned four letters all told in football. "He is a diamond in the rough," said Coach Dansby. "He is one of those power-type runners with speed. He is an outstanding blocker. He blocked for our tailback this past year, who gained over 2,000 yards. Micah is a big, strong, powerful kid. He runs 4.5 in the 40 and is not just fast, but quick. He had 10 knockouts (decleaters) this season and when he played (strong safety) there were players who saw him coming and went to the ground. Oregon State got a steal. He's the nicest person you ever want to meet off the field, but on the field he's a seek-and-destroy person. he's a pit bull."
