PREVIOUS COACHING EXPERIENCE:
(1994-95)--Matt got his coaching start as a student assistant under his father, Sonny Lubick, at Colorado State in 1994 and coached the running backs. He was made a graduate assistant in the fall of 1995 and also an academic supervisor. He coached the defensive backs in 1995.
(1996)--Matt joined the Cal State Northridge staff as a full-time assistant in 1996 under Coach Dave Baldwin. Matt coached the secondary and the Matadors recorded a 7-4 season and were ranked 26th among 1-AA schools. (1997-98)--Matt moved to San Jose State in 1997 with Dave Baldwin. Matt coached the wide receivers for two years at San Jose State.
(1999)--Matt joined Dennis Erickson at Oregon State and serves as the Beavers' recruiting coordinator and assistant secondary coach.
PREP ATHLETIC RECORD: Attended Bellarmine High School in San Jose, CA, as a sophomore and junior and attended West Minister Christian High School in Miami, Florida, as a senior, graduating in 1990. He earned two letters in football and track at Bellermine and one in each sport at West Minister Christian. He set a school record at West Minister Christian in the 400 meter dash, running 49.9. He was an all-county selection at wide receiver his senior year. Played football for Coach Hank Amundson as a senior.
COLLEGE ATHLETIC RECORD: Attended Western Montana College in Dillon, Montana. He was a four-year starter at defensive back and earned first-team all-conference honors as a junior and senior. Selected NAIA All-American as a senior. Played for Coach Bob Beers.
EDUCATION: Graduated from West Minister Christian High School in Miami, Florida, in 1990. Attended Western Montana College in Dillon, MT, from 1990-94. Earned his B.S. in exercise and sports science with emphasis on pre-med from Colorado State University in 1995. He was a member of the Dean's list for three years at Western Montana and one year at Colorado State. He was a three-year academic all-conference selection at Western Montana. Graduated with an overall GPA of 3.8.
PERSONAL: Full name is Matthew William (Matt) Lubick. Son of current Colorado State head coach, Sonny Lubick. Matt is single.

NOTABLE ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Matt earned first-team NAIA All-American honors as a defensive back at Western Montana College. Coached all-conference wide receiver Oliver Newell at San Jose State. Coached all-league defensive back Bennie Herron at Cal State Northridge. Helped coach defensive backs Ray Jackson and Greg Meyers at Colorado State. Jackson is now playing for the Buffalo Bills in the NFL and Meyers is playing for Cincinnati in the NFL.
