PERSONAL--Born 3/25/78 in Phoenix, AZ...son of Don and Donna Stacy...he has three brothers, Mike White, 23; Mark Stacy, 16; and Matt Stacy, 15...he is in the College of Liberal Arts and is a liberal studies major...his brother, Mike, played football at Montana State University...enjoys snowboarding and hunting...selected OSU because, “It felt like a perfect fit.”
OSU--(2000-Senior)--Mitch enters his senior having played and started all 12 games of his OSU career...he had a solid junior year and he should be even better in 2000...an extremely hard worker who plays very consistent football...he played virtually every minute on offense in 1999...he will be one of the mainstays on the offensive front for OSU in 2000...Mitch posted the fourth best back squat mark on the team with a mark of 485...he also had a bench press best of 335 and a power clean lift of 275 during the winter conditioning program.
OSU-(1999-Junior)--Mitch enrolled at OSU spring quarter and participated in spring practice...Mitch was recruited specifically to replace Matt Gartung, who graduated following the 1998 season and signed with the San Diego Chargers of the NFL...Mitch was installed at the No. 1 right tackle position at the start of spring drills and had a solid spring and will be the Beavers' starting right tackle in 1999...providing Jason White is okay in fall camp, OSU should have a pair of Whites (they are not related) starting at the tackle positions...Mitch was able to do only one lift during the spring and recorded a bench press best of 300 pounds.
PALOMAR COLLEGE, San Marcos, CA--(1996-98)--Following the 1998 season, Mitch was selected first-team JC Athletic Bureau All-America, second-team J.C. "It came down to OSU, Kansas State and Utah and he selected Oregon State. Mike Riley and Dennis Erickson both did a great job recruiting Mitch. He has good size and is very athletic. He moves his feet very well, has great leverage and flexibility and he is an excellent pass blocker. He runs very well and is outstanding while pulling for running plays. I think he was the best tackle playing junior college football this year."...Palomar College was ranked No. 1 among California community college teams with a 11-1 record in 1998...Palomar won the state championship by defeating City College of San Francisco 30-21 in the title game.
