PERSONAL--Born 7/10/79 in Brooklyn, New York...son of Terrance Steele and Debra Gray...he has an older brother, Sean, 21, and two younger sisters, Anita, 18, and Tyanna, 9...plans to major in physical therapy at OSU...enjoys weightlifting...
OSU--(2000--Senior)--Terrance enters his senior year having played in four games as a backup corner in 1999...he reported to spring drills as the No. 3 right cornerback and he concluded spring drills in the same spot...Terrance certainly helped his cause for more playing time with improved play during spring drills...he is playing behind a pair of three-year letter winners in Keith Heyward-Johnson and Ricky Walker...Terrance’s play during the spring served notice he can be a valuable backup for OSU during the 2000 season...he is expected to be a contributor on special teams...in winter conditioning, Terrance posted lifting bests of 385 in the back squat, 215 in the bench press and 242 in the power clean.
OSU--(1999-Junior)--Terrance enrolled in the fall and provided depth at cornerback.
PALOMAR COLLEGE, San Marcos, CA--(1997-98)--Selected first-team All-America by JC Athletic Bureau, first-team JC Athletic Bureau All-State (California) in Region 1V and first-team all-league (Mission Conference) as a sophomore...listed as the 69th best JUCO player in the nation by SuperPrep Magazine...served as team captain...named Palomar special teams Player-of-the-Year...played for Coach Tom Craft at Palomar College...he was a two-year starter at cornerback...as a sophomore in 1998, Terrance had 23 solo tackles; 30 assisted tackles; 3 tackles for loss; 5 sacks; 30 quarterback hurries; 8 quarterback knock downs; 7 passes broken up; 1 caused fumble; 1 recovered fumble for a TD and 61 total tackles...runs 4.5 in 40...earned first-team all-conference honors as a freshman as well as first-team JC Athletic Bureau All-State in Region IV honors... "Terrance came out of Bayside High School to us as a quarterback and we made him a cornerback," said Coach Craft. "He became a good cornerback as a freshman and then be became a dominate cornerback as a sophomore. He took the position to a new level this year. BAYSIDE HIGH SCHOOL, Queens, NY (1995-96)--He played prep football as a quarterback at Bayside High School in Queens, New York...lettered two years as a quarterback and running back...earned one letter in track as a sprinter...as a junior, completed 15 of 32 passes for 335 yards and 4 touchdowns with 2 interceptions and a long gain of 68 yards...had 212 pass receiving yards and another 2 touchdowns...as a senior, rushed for 747 yards in eight games and produced 9 touchdowns, including a long run of 85 yards...passed for 932 yards and 7 touchdowns with 3 interceptions and a long pass play of 81 yards...his best games as a senior including 180 yards passing and 2 touchdowns and 202 yards rushing for a touchdown, plus a 98-yard kickoff return for a TD, all vs. Andrew Jackson High School...named team MVP as a senior...selected first-team All-Queens by Newsday and by New York Daily News...played for Coach Joe Capuana at Bayside High School.
