PERSONAL—Born 1/9/80 in Portland, OR...son of Kevin and Michaele Gregg...he is in the College of Agriculture and is a horticulture major...he has a sister, Sara, 24, and a brother, Sean, 18...entered OSU with a 3.76 GPA out of high school...he was a member of the National Honor Society in high school and served as senior class vice president...Barry Sanders is his favorite athlete...going to nationals for wrestling in high school was his top athletic thrill as a prep...he selected OSU because, “OSU had the major I wanted and I wanted to play Division I football.”
OSU—(2002—Senior)— Peter is a dedicated walk-on who loves to play football and will likely spend the season as a special teams contributor once again…he has great work ethic…Peter earned a letter in 2001 by playing in seven games, virtually all on special teams...he has seven career defensive points heading into his senior season...he opened spring drills as the No. 4 right defensive end and he moved up to No. 3 on the depth chart at the conclusion of spring drills...in the Spring Game, Peter recorded a sack for the winning Black squad...during the winter conditioning program, Peter produced weightlifting bests of 525 in the back squat, 350 in the bench press, 342 in the power clean and 303 in the push press...his vertical jump best was 32 inches.
(2001—Junior)—Peter earned a letter in 2001 by playing in seven games, primarily on special teams...he played against Northern Arizona as a defensive end and recorded three tackles, giving him seven defensive points for the season...Peter reported to spring drills listed No. 3 on the depth chart at right defensive end…he reported to fall camp listed No. 4 at the same position…in the winter conditioning program, Peter posted lifting bests of 495 in the squat, 345 in the bench press and 341.7 in the power clean.
(2000—Sophomore)—Peter reported to spring drills as a walk-on listed at No. 4 on the depth chart at left tackle...Peter was switched to right defensive end during spring drills and showed significant improvement...he reported to fall camp listed as the No. 3 right defensive end...Peter did not play in a game during the 2000 season…he was a scout team player the entire year…in winter conditioning, Peter performed very well in weight training...he recorded the third best power clean lift on the team at 324 pounds...he also posted a back squat mark of 445 and a bench press best of 325 pounds.
(1999—Redshirt Freshman)—Peter entered OSU in 1998 but did not turn out for football until the fall of 1999...he performed on the scout team in 1999 as a walk-on defensive end and did not play in a game.
ESTACADA HIGH SCHOOL—(1995-98)—Peter lettered in three sports at Estacada, a 3A school...he earned two letters in wrestling...he wrestled at 215 pounds...he earned three letters in football, starting at guard on offense and linebacker on defense, while playing for Coach Roger Freeborn...he also earned two letters in track and field while competing in the shot put and discus...he placed third in the state as a senior freestyle wrestler and later won the state championship in Greco Roman and competed for the Junior National Team...in football, he was a first-team all-league (Tri-Valley) selection on offense and defense and was an honorable mention all-state (Oregonian) pick at guard...he was the captain of his football team...played in the Shrine All-Star football game in Baker in the summer of 1998.
