OSU—(2002—Junior)—Nate is a two-year letter winner, while playing mostly on special teams in his first two seasons...Nate opened spring drills listed No. 4 on the depth chart at split end...he concluded spring drills listed No. 4 at flanker...Nate is a “blue-collar” type receiver...in the three scrimmages during the spring, including the Spring Game, Nate had one reception...he has been a valuable performer on special teams and he is expected to fill that role again this year...during winter conditioning, Nate posted weightlifting bests of 355 in the back squat, 235 in the bench press, 231 in the power clean and 254 in the push press...he recorded a vertical jump of 30 inches.
(2001—Sophomore)—Nate entered the 2001 season as a walk-on wide receiver who earned a letter by playing in three games as a redshirt freshman in 2000...he earned a letter in 2001 by playing in eight of 11 games, mostly on special teams...he has yet to catch a pass in a college game…in the Beavers’ three spring scrimmages, Nate caught two passes for 22 yards, all in the first scrimmage…he reported to fall camp listed as the No. 3 flanker on the depth chart…in the winter conditioning program, Nate produced weightlifting bests of 305 in the squat, 220 in the bench press and 220.5 in the power clean.
(2000—Freshman Redshirt)—Nate earned a letter as a redshirt freshman in 2000 by playing in three games…he did not catch a pass in 2000…Nate, a walk-on, participated as a scout team player while redshirting in 1999...he reported to spring drills listed No. 4 at split end...he concluded spring drills listed No. 4 at flanker...in the four spring scrimmages, he caught one pass for one yard...in the weight room, Nate posted bests of 310 pounds in the back squat, 185 in the bench press and 187 in the power clean.
(1999—Freshman)—Joined the Oregon State program for the start of fall camp as a walk-on wide receiver.
REGIS HIGH SCHOOL, Stayton, OR-(1996-99)—Nate earned three letters each in football, basketball and baseball...started two years in football as a wide receiver, two years in basketball as a guard and three years in baseball as a center fielder...played football for coaches Steve Luby and Kirk Miller...was a two-time first team all-league (Tri-River) selection as a wide receiver and honorable mention as a defensive back...named first team all-state 2A by The Oregonian following his senior year.
