PREVIOUS COACHING EXPERIENCE:
(1997-1998)--Scott spent the 1997 and 1998 seasons as an undergraduate assistant at San Jose State University with the same responsibilities and workload of a graduate assistant. In the spring of 1999, Scott coached the Spartan's tight ends.
(1999)--Scott left San Jose State in July to join the Oregon State football program as a graduate assistant with the offensive staff.
PREP ATHLETIC RECORD: Scott played his prep football at Oak Grove High School, San Jose, CA, graduating in 1994. Scott was an All-Central Coast section selection at quarterback in 1993. He also earned All-Santa Clara County honors and was named the Oak Grove and league MVP as a senior in 1993.
COLLEGE ATHLETIC RECORD: Scott attended De Anza Community College in Cupertino, CA in 1994 and '95. He was a two-year starter at quarterback and earned team and offensive MVP honors as a freshman. Scott was also team captain as a sophomore. He was a first team All-Coast Conference selection in 1995 after established a California State JC record for single game completions with 41. He finished as the third ranked passer among California JC quaterbacks in 1995. Scott transferred to California State University Northridge in 1996 and played quarterback for Coach Dave Baldwin. When Baldwin moved to San Jose State as head coach in 1997, Scott followed him as an undergraduate assistant.
EDUCATION: Scott graduated from Oak Grove High School in San Jose, CA in 1994. Attended De Anza Community College from 1994-96 and earned his Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts in May, 1996.. Attended California State University Northridge in 1996. Graduated from San Jose State University from 1997 through 1999 and earned a B.A. in kinesiology and a minor in special education.
PERSONAL: Scott is single and is the son of Ed Swartz, former Director of Athletics at UTEP and associate director of athletics at University of Oregon, Illinois and San Jose State University.
