OSU--(2000-Senior)--The 1999 season was virtually a lost season for Jared...after suffering a torn ACL in his right knee in the 1999 Spring Game, Jared missed the first six games of the season before he was cleared for action...before the injury, Jared was OSU’s No. 1 left guard...he enters his senior year having played in 16 career games with three starts during his sophomore season...Jared reported for spring drills in excellent physical condition and ready to battle for a starting spot...he was listed as the No. 2 left guard at the start of spring drills...he spent the entire spring alternating at left and right guard with Robert Sykes and Keith DiDomenico...the Beavers plan to go with a three-guard rotation during he 2000 season with the Cornell, Sykes and DiDomenico...all three have been battle tested and OSU will have a solid guard rotation as a result...Jared produced outstanding numbers during winter conditioning...he produced the sixth best back squat mark at 470 pounds, second best bench press lift of 415 pounds and the 10th best power clean lift at 286 pounds.
OSU--(1999-Junior)--Jared entered spring drills as the No. 1 left guard and was having a solid spring, only to suffer a knee injury in the final quarter of the Spring game on May 1 at Hillsboro...Jared had surgery on his right knee in May to correct a torn ACL, which puts his playing status in jeopardy this fall...in the weight room, Jared has produced personal bests of 362 pounds in the hang clean, 435 in the bench press, 500 in the back squat and 365 in the incline...his vertical jump best is 24.50 inches.
(1998-Sophomore)--Jared was one of the most improved players on the Beaver roster during spring drills and his play earned him the No. 1 spot at left guard at the conclusion of spring practice...Jared played in all 11 games in 1998...opened the season as a backup to senior Larry Ramirez...started three games after Ramirez suffered a knee injury...Jared started against Arizona State (9/26), Utah State (10/3) and Stanford (10/10)...when Ramirez came back from his injury, Jared return to backup status, however, Jared shared playing time the rest of the season with Ramirez...Jared continued to show improvement as the season progressed.
(1997-Redshirt Freshman)--Jared earned a letter by playing in three games (Washington, California and USC) for OSU in 1997 as a backup guard...Jared entered spring drills listed as the No. 2 right guard on offense and when spring drills were completed he emerged as the No. 2 left guard...Jared arrived at OSU as a 270-pounder and in one year's time he bulked up to 318 pounds at the conclusion of spring drills...Jared is making the normal progress you would expect and a year of playing behind more experienced linemen should have him ready for the Pac-10 wars.

He hasn't lifted weights that much, so he has untapped potential. I think in college he will wind up as an offensive guard." He is a BlueChip Illustrated Magazine All-Western region selection...this from BCI--"Some scouts think he may be the best DL prospect in the Northwest."...he earned three letters in football, four in track and two in wrestling...he was a three-year starter in football, the last two years starting on both offense and defense... he was a two-time first-team all-league (Tri-Valley Conference) pick on offense and defense as a junior and senior, plus he was an honorable mention all-state choice (The Oregonian) on defense as a junior...placed sixth (shot put) in a national track meet in Sacramento, California in the summer of 1995... "He has been involved in a lot of things, sports year-round, gone to camps in summer, and in reality, he has ability to be one heck of a player because the raw athletic ability is really there," said coach Bauer...earned one letter as a center in basketball his sophomore year.
