Michael Seemann is in second season as an assistant coach with Oregon State.
Seemann comes to Corvallis after a successful club and community college coaching career in Portland. He had served as head coach at Mt. Hood Community College since 1998, and he had been a head coach for the Nike Northwest Juniors club program since 1999.
Seemann was named the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC) Coach of the Year in both 2000 and 2001. Mt. Hood went a combined 92-9 during those two seasons and won the NWAACC Championship both years. In four seasons at Mt. Hood, he posted a 159-33 record (.828).
Two of his athletes earned All-American honors, and 11 of his players went on to compete for NCAA or NAIA schools.
That success has continued at the Division I level, as OSU setter Laura Collins earned honorable mention All-Pacific-10 recognition last year under Seemann's direction.
At the club level, Seemann coached Nike Northwest's 16 and Under team to a second place finish at the National Volleyball Festival in 2001. His 16U team placed third at that same competition in 2000.
Seemann graduated with a bachelor's degree in communication studies from Portland State in 1999.
