Sheila Shaw begins her first season with the volleyball program as administrative intern.
Shaw comes to Oregon State after starting Sports UP, LLC, a company that manages and conducts volleyball camps around the state of Wisconsin. Other previous work experience includes serving as the Operations Manager for the University of Wisconsin women's rowing team from 2005-07.
Shaw is a member of the Rote Raben Vilsbiburg Professional Volleyball Club in Vilsbiburg, Germany, earning German All-Star status during the 2009-10 season. In 2008-09, she was on VC Wiesbaden Professional Volleyball Club in Germany. She played the 2007-08 season for Stade Francais Professional Volleyball Club in Paris, France as team captain, after training with the US National Team in the Spring of 2007.
At Wisconsin, Shaw was a two-time AVCA All-American, All-Midwest Region and All-Big Ten First Team selection in her junior and senior seasons at middle blocker from 2002-05. As a freshman, she was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. She finished her career ranked fourth in hitting percentage, seventh in blocks, ninth in service aces and seventh in 1,000-plus kills with 1,313.
Shaw also excelled in the classroom, earning CoSIDA/ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District honors in 2005, Big Ten All-Academic back-to-back years and being named a University of Wisconsin Scholar Athlete twice.
Shaw graduated from Wisconsin with a Bachelor's in Social Welfare in 2007. She is originally from Muskego, Wis.
