Adam Masten will serve the 2002-2003 season as an undergraduate coach for the program. The four-year letterman guard at Oregon State completed his playing eligibility last season, and in accordance to NCAA rules will serve his fifth year in the program as a coach.
Masten concluded his playing career sixth all-time at the school for three-point field goals with 115 and sixth for attempts with 308. He also shot .870 from the free throw line as a senior, matching the single season OSU record for percentage.
The Salem, Ore., native was a two-time recipient of the program’s Ed Lewis Award, signifying outstanding leadership. Masten served his senior year as a co-team captain and concluded his career with 73 starts in 112 career games.
Masten came to OSU from Sprague High School in Salem, where he led the team to a pair of Valley League titles. He was the league’s MVP as a junior and a two-time all-conference selection. He also was named to the all-state squad twice, first team as a senior.
Adam and his wife Jessica were married in August.
