Men's Golf In Fourth Place After Day Two At Cabo Collegiate

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State men's golf team is in fourth place after the second day of play at the Cabo Collegiate at the Querencia Los Cabos Golf Club.
"The team score indicates that we played better today, but honestly, I feel like we played worse," Oregon State head coach Jon Reehoorn said. "For the most part, we did a good job, but the big numbers and poor tee shots in key spots have kept us from having a really good tournament."
The Beavers were led by junior Alex Moore, who followed Saturday's 3-over 75 with a 1-under 71, and is tied for ninth overall. Junior Morten Madsen fired a 2-over 74 for the second straight day and is tied for 16th.
"Alex played a very up and down round today, but at the end of the day it was a 71," Reehoorn said. "We need a few more of those from the guys tomorrow and hopefully we can get Morten going as he will be key to our success all season."
The final round will be played tomorrow at the 7,070-yard, par 72 Querencia Los Cabos Golf Club, which has been rated the top course in Mexico by Golf Digest.
"We enter tomorrow's final round in fourth and just a few shots from having a good finish," Reehoorn said. "This golf course is very difficult and a large number of shots can be gained or lost pretty quickly. I know the guys are ready to come out tomorrow and play their hearts out to move up the leaderboard."
