Women's Golf Concludes Action at Pac-10 Championship
PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The Oregon State’s women’s golf team concluded the last day of action at the Pac-10 Conference Championships in 10th place overall, recording a three-round, team score total of 90-over-par, 942.
“We played well today with 14 birdies in all,” head coach said. “The golf course and the hole locations were difficult throughout the tournament; however, I think we have a great group of players to work with and a terrific base to build successful teams in the future. We will use this result to motivate us as we go forward.”
The Beavers continuously improved throughout the competition, carding a third round total of 310 which was five shots lower than their second round score and a seven shot improvement from the first round of play.
The three-round leader for Oregon State, junior , finished the day in 29th place carding a three-day total of 18-over 231 (77,76,78).
Senior landed in a tie for 32nd place with a three-round sum of 20-over 233 (77,77,79).
Freshman showed the biggest improvement during the third round of play by posting a third round score of three-over 74, which was eight shots better than her second round score and an 11-shot improvement from the first round of the championship.
Sophomore advanced to a tie for 43rd place from her second round 44th place standing, posting a three-round total of 30-over 243 (80,84,79).
Senior rounded out the scoring for the Beavers completing the competition in 45th place with a total 31-over 244 (83,80,81).
USC captured the team title with a score of eight-over 860 (285,292,283) as Paola Moreno took home the individual honors with a score of one-under 212 (70,75,67).
