Softball Earns Conference Leading Eight All-Academic Honors

Walnut Creek, Calif. Eight Oregon State softball student-athletes earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors tying to lead the conference, announced Wednesday by Pac-10 Commissioner Tom Hansen.
Sophomore (Eugene, Ore.) led the way with first team accolades. The Human Development and Family Sciences major was the lone sophomore named to the 10-member team.
Earning second team honors were senior (Camarillo, Calif.), junior (Stayton, Ore.) and sophomore (Camarillo, Calif.). Miranda tallied her second All-Academic nod, earning honorable mention honors in 2007.
Rounding out the student-athletes on the All-Academic team were junior (Tustin, Calif.), who earned the same honors in 2007, and sophomores (Portland, Ore.), (Boring, Ore.) and (Chula Vista, Calif.), who all received honorable mention.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and either be a starter or significant contributor.
