Kevin Rhoderick Named To Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team

CORVALLIS, Ore. Oregon State closer Kevin Rhoderick has been named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America Team, the publication Collegiate Baseball announced Wednesday.
Rhoderick, in his first season with the Beavers after coming from Scottsdale, Ariz., led OSU with 12 saves in 14 opportunities. He finished his first campaign with a 0-1 record and 2.39 ERA. The 12 saves are tied for third-best in an Oregon State single season and Rhoderick is already tied for second on the OSU career list.
The right-hander allowed opponents to hit just .131 against him in 2008; he did not allow a hit until his seventh appearance of the season. Rhoderick allowed multiple hits in a game just twice.
It has been a busy recent 10 days for Rhoderick, who was named to the All-Pacific-10 Conference Honorable Mention team on May 29. Two days prior, it was announced that Rhoderick was one of 32 players invited to the USA Baseball National Team Trials, scheduled for June 11-23.
