Bressler Named to 2007-08 NWCA All-Academic Team
Manheim, Penn. – Junior Kyle Bressler (Federal Way, Wash.) added another academic honor after being named to the 2007-08 National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Academic Team, announced Thursday.
Bressler, a Construction Engineering major, was the lone Oregon State wrestler to make the list and one of 88 total NCAA Division I wrestlers to make the individual list.
Wrestlers must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA, been an NCAA qualifier or won 60 percent of his total schedule – and must have competed in at least 60 percent of said schedule. The other way to qualify for the All-Academic team is have a 3.0 cumulative and been an NCAA All-American.
Bressler was one of three Beaver wrestlers to qualify for the NCAA Championships in St. Louis, Mo., after winning the Pac-10 title at 197 pounds. It was his second consecutive year qualifying for the championships after earning an at-large bid in 2007 at 184 pounds.
