James Allenby Named Ping/GCAA All-Region

NORMAN, Okla. Oregon State senior men’s golfer James Allenby has been named on this year’s Division I PING All-Region Team, the Golf Coaches Association of America announced on Thursday. With the selection, Allenby is selected for PING All-America honors.
The top-15 golfers in their respective regions were named to the list as well as players who were in the top-75 according to Golfstat or Sagarin rankings. Allenby is currently ranked 32nd in the country according to the Sagarin rankings.
“It was a great year for him,” head coach Brian Watts said. “For him to break the all-time scoring record at Oregon State to finish in the top-20 of every regular season event are great accomplishments for him.”
Allenby concluded his final season at Oregon State setting school records in season scoring average with 71.33 along with career scoring average with 71.46. He never finished out of the top-20 in a regular season tournament and recorded his first career individual win at the Husky Invitation in October.
