WALNUT CREEK, Calif. Oregon State University’s women’s track had eight student-athletes receive Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic honors, as was announced on Monday by Commissioner Tom Hansen.
To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
Senior and sophomore each earned first team honors while sophomore earned second team honors.
Senior , senior , junior , junior and freshman earned honorable mention for their academic and athletic efforts.
Denfeld, from Bend, Ore., is majoring in Business Administration has earned her third consecutive first team selection in track and has been named to the second team in cross country two times. Van Brunt a Biology major from Grants Pass, Ore., earned her second track nomination to accompany her two cross country selections. Oveson, of La Grande, Ore., is majoring in General Engineering was also named to the first team in cross country this year.
Harer, from Seaside, Ore., earned her third track all-academic team selection, and has made cross country all-academic three times. Crawford, from Grand Junction, Colo., made the track all-academic team for the second time and has been named to the cross country team four times. O’Connor, of Newfane, N.Y., earned her first selection in track and has been named to cross country all-academic once. Thomson, from Eugene, Ore., gathered her second all-academic track nomination to accompany two cross country nominations. Chesimet, from Astoria, Ore., earned her first all-academic nomination to accompany her first cross country selection.
