Women's Golf Concludes First Day at Championship

PALOS VERDES, Calif. - The Oregon State women’s golf team is in 10th place following the first day of action at the 22nd Pac-10 Conference Women’s Golf Championship on Monday.
The Beavers are currently in 10th place with a team score of 33-over-par, 317 heading into the second round of play, four shots behind Washington State.
Junior Martha Burkard and Senior Julianna Uhrik are both leading the way for Oregon State, putting up a first-round total of six-over, 77, heading into the second round of action in a tie for 31st.
Sophomore Lauren Archer is in 40th place with a first-round total of nine-over 80, as Senior Jessi Gebhardt finished off the first round four shots behind Archer with a total of 12-over 83 as she enters the second round in a tie for 44th.
Cara Freeman rounded out the scoring for the Beavers with a 14-over 85, landing in a tie for 46th.
UCLA is in the lead with an even-par score of 284, as the Bruins’ Tiffany Joh and Sydnee Michaels are tied for first, carding tournament lows of 2-under 69 during the first round.
