Wrestling Signs Two More for 2008-09

Corvallis, Ore. Two more wrestlers have signed National Letters of Intent to wrestle at Oregon State beginning in the 2008-09 season, announced Thursday by Oregon State head coach Jim Zalesky.
Ty Vinson (Great Falls, Mont./Great Falls HS) is a two-time Montana AA Champion and was the 2007 Junior National Greco Roman Champion. Vinson is projected to wrestle at 174/184 pounds.
Caleb Valloton (Bella Vista, Calif./Foothill HS) finished fourth at the California State Championships, placing for the second year. He earned All-America honors at the Junior Nationals in Freestyle. Valloton is projected to wrestle at 125/133 pounds.
“Ty and Caleb add depth to the weights we need and are excited about what we’re doing here at Oregon State,” Oregon State head coach Jim Zalesky said. “They add to the kind of wrestlers who want to work hard to be the best they can be.”
Oregon State already signed Michael Mangrum (Auburn, Wash.) and Jarett “Bubba” Owens (Tillamook, Ore.) during the early signing period in November.
Wrestling will kick off the 2008-09 season in Auburn, Wash., on Saturday, Nov. 15, hosting Simon Fraser at 7:00 p.m.
