Gymnastics Wins Academic Title

The volleyball team led the way in the spring with a 3.37 GPA, followed closely by cross country at 3.36. The highest men’s team was soccer at 3.13. For the academic year gymnastics won the title with 3.39 cumulative, followed by volleyball (3.36) and men’s golf (3.32).
A total of 181 student-athletes finished the year with a 3.00 GPA-plus, with 197 posting at least a 3.00 for spring term (20 4.00s). Sixty-two individuals were selected to the OSU Honor Roll for spring bringing the total to 241 Honor Roll selections for 2007-08.
“Your contributions to the Beaver Athletic Student Fund (BASF) provide opportunities for our student-athletes to excel in a competitive environment academically and athletically in the Pac-10 Conference,” OSU Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis said. “We’re only as strong as our donors.”
The Pac-10 recognized 99 OSU student-athletes on its league-wide academic teams for the year.
The women’s teams combined for a 3.15 cumulative GPA for spring, the 23rd consecutive term of 3.00-plus.
