MARIANNE VYDRA
Associate Director/Senior Women’s Administrator
Marianne Vydra joined OSU in the summer of 1992 in the position of assistant coordinator of student-athlete services. In 1998 she was promoted to the role of senior women’s administrator (SWA)/Director of Academic Services, and in 2001 she fully took on the role of SWA and is currently part of the leadership team with respect to strategic planning for the department.
Vydra supervises several sports programs, leads the student-athlete welfare units and directs the athletic department's Leadership Institute as part of the “everyday champions” Program; she also represents OSU in several important committees in the Pac-10 and NCAA.
As OSU’s SWA, she has served as Pac-10 liaison for wrestling, men’s soccer, women’s gymnastic, softball, and is currently the Pac-10 women’s soccer liaison. She was named Pac-10 Administrator of the Year in 2000 for women’s gymnastics and in 2008 was tabbed the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s Administrator of the Year. Vydra has also served on the Pac-10 Executive Committee and she recently chaired the Pac-10 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She has also been a member of the Pac-10 Women’s Basketball Tournament committee and recently served on the SWAC Television Committee. She currently serves as a member on the PAC-10 Diversity Initiative Committee.

At OSU, she is a member of the President’s Commission on the Status of Women (ex-officio 1998 - present) and has been a member of the Student Conduct Committee (2001-2005). She is a former member and chair of OSU’s Academic Standing Committee.
Vydra is a member/co-chair of OSU’s Athletic Advisory Committee and in the fall of 2002, chaired the Sports Sponsorship Subcommittee. As a result of that committee’s work, a recommendation was accepted by the Advisory Board and the Athletic Director to add the sports of women’s cross country/track to OSU’s current sponsorship of 17 sports in the Fall of 2004.
