2008: Taylor is a key special teams player, serving as the holder (integral part of Alexis Serna’s record-setting career) and as a punt returner – likely will play those roles again this year...fearless competitor who has developed into a valuable member of the team. 2007: For the second consecutive year he shared the team’s “Lunch Bucket Award” as voted on by the team for his work ethic...27 punt returns for a 6.9 average, eighth in the Pac-10...had a long return of 26 yards in the Emerald Bowl that set up OSU at Maryland’s 36-yard line for the winning drive in the third quarter. 2006: Special teams contributor who returned two punts for 10 yards – one for six yards vs. Eastern Washington and one for four yards vs. Idaho...also had a reception for nine yards vs. Eastern Washington...member of the Pac-10 Conference’s All-Academic Team...he and Brandon Powers were awarded the “Lunch Bucket Award.” 2005: Redshirt.

LINCOLN: Taylor was a four-sport athlete...lettered three years in football, starting two as a receiver and defensive back...played in the Oregon Les Schwab All-Star Game following his senior year...third team all-state as a receiver and honorable mention as a defensive back...first team All-PIL at both positions...made 38 receptions for 600-plus yards and five touchdowns as a senior, and 75 tackles, six quarterback sacks and four interceptions...also averaged 20.5 yards on kickoff returns and 11.1 on punt returns...lettered in track, wrestling and baseball.

PERSONAL: Born in Alameda, California...son of Dan and Jenifer Kavanaugh...has one brother and two sisters...graduated from Lincoln with a 3.25 cumulative GPA...enjoys classic cars, motorcycles and playing the guitar...chose OSU because “I have always been an OSU fan and the engineering curriculum”...majoring in constructing engineering management.
