2008: Sean will compete for starting duties in August...missed spring practice while rehabilitating from a left shoulder (his throwing shoulder) injury suffered at USC in 07...strong arm and athletic...enters the year needing 235 yards passing and two TD passes to move into OSU’s top-10 in both...in the program since spring of 2005. 2007: Sean started the first nine games before being injured at USC when attempting to slide on a scramble...prior to the injury he was in the midst of playing his best as a Beaver...353 passing yards vs. Idaho State, the 12th-highest total in school history...possibly his best game of his career in upset at No. 2 California, passing for 186 yards on 18 of 33...returned to action in the Emerald Bowl in emergency after Moevao was hurt in the first quarter, tossing a TD pass to James Rodgers...1,661 passing yards for the season...the youngest starting QB at OSU since current Cleveland Brown
CARLSBAD: Sean lettered and started three years for Carlsbad, leading the team to a three-year mark of 24-9...earned All-Avocado League honors and the league’s Offensive Player of the Year three times...three-time all-state selection...second team All-CIF San Diego Section as a senior after throwing for 1,691 yards (119-214) and 13 touchdowns...
PERSONAL: Born in La Jolla, California...son of Daniel Canfield and Jill Ganey...Dan is a photographer and Jill is a sales representative...has two siblings...San Diego Tribune Scholar-Athlete Award recipient for 2004-2005...right-handed in everything, except ping pong and football...chose OSU because of the “coaching staff, the offensive scheme and the overall program”...majoring in philosophy.
