Men's Golf Completes Day One of NCAA Regional
Bremerton, Wash. – The Oregon State men’s golf team is tied for 13th after the first round at the NCAA Division I West Regional at the Gold Mountain Golf Club, hosted by the University of Washington.
Oregon State is within striking distance of qualifying for nationals as the Beavers enter day two only three shots back of 10th place.
Sophomore leads the Beavers after the first round at 2-over par. He is currently tied for 31st and five strokes off the leader Joey Benedetti from Oregon.
Velasquez started out by going 3-over before making the turn. He had consistent back nine, going 1-under with birdies on the 11th and 18th holes.
and are both tied for 49th after shooting 3-over 75. Allenby was 5-over through 13; but, eagled 14 and birdied 15 and finished at 3-over.
Williams had the fewest above par holes for the Beavers in round one with four and added two birdies to finish 3-over.

Oregon State tees off tomorrow for round two at 8:35 a.m. on the 10th hole of the Olympic Course. They are paired with Louisiana State and Pepperdine.
