Oregon State returns to Eastern Washington for a three-game series with Washington State. The Beavers and Cougars open the series Saturday at 5:30 p.m. PT.

Last Game
Lonnie Lechelt and Jason Ogata both finished with two hits but the Beavers fell to Gonzaga, 4-2, Wednesday in the two-game series finale in Spokane. Lechelt doubled in the fourth and singled in the sixth and Ogata singled twice to lead the Beavers. Greg Peavey took the loss, but pitched effectively through 4 1/3 innings, allowing four hits and an earned run. He did, however, drop to 2-2 this season.
Against WSU
In last season’s three-game series against the Cougars last season, the Beavers batted .299 and belted six doubles, four triples and two home runs. The club’s slugging percentage through the weekend was .505.
Top 10
Mike Stutes, Saturday’s probable starter, is now tied for fourth in OSU history with 263 career strikeouts. He is tied with John Sipple, and needs four for 267, which would move him into a tie for third with Mason Smith.

Notes Of Importance
The 46 wins for Pat Casey versus WSU is the most for the head coach against any club during his tenure at Oregon State.
Saturday’s game will mark Mike Stutes’ 50th career appearance at OSU. It will be his 61st collegiately after appearing 11 times at Santa Clara in 2005.
As a team, OSU has 101 multi-hit games this season, and in a 53-game regular season schedule, is on pace for 149. The Beavers had 175 in 67 games last season.
WSU marks OSU’s first unranked Pac-10 opponent since Washington on March 30.
OSU has out-scored its opponents by a combined 34 runs from the fourth through sixth innings this season.
The five-game road trip is the longest in 2008.
