Oregon State Travels to Windermere Cup

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Two crews from the Oregon State men’s rowing team will travel to Seattle for the second time in three weeks as the Beavers Junior Varsity 8+ and Freshman 8+ crews travel north to compete in the Windermere Cup/Opening Day Regatta on May 3 at Montlake Cut.
This will be the Beavers' final tune-up for the Pac-10 Championships. Oregon State will be looking for redemption as they face off against the Washington crews that got the best of them two weeks ago in a dual meet between the Beavers and the Huskies.
The F8+ crew is scheduled to race at 10:58 a.m., when it takes on the first and second Husky F8+ crews. The JV8+ crew will race in the Cascade Cup against the JV8+ Husky crew.
“It’ll be a great chance for our JV and Frosh to take on the Huskies again and see if we’ve made the improvements that we’re working on,” said Oregon State head coach Steve Todd. “As a team, we are grateful to compete at one of the outstanding events in the rowing world.”
Oregon State will take the following week off to prepare for the strong competition at the Pac-10 Championships, scheduled for Sunday, May 18 at Rancho Cordova, Calif. Four of the six Pac-10 crews are currently ranked in the top 20, with Washington (1), California (6), and Stanford (9) ranked in the top 10.
