Allenby Eighth; Beavers Sixth Going Into Final Day
FAIRFAX, Calif. – The Oregon State men’s golf team concluded the second day of action at the Pac-10 Conference Championship as the Beavers are currently tied for sixth place following three rounds of action at The Meadow Club. It was a strong day for the Beavers as Oregon State climbed to as high as fifth in the standings during the day. Senior James Allenby rose to the top of the leaderboard at 6-under early in the day; but, finished three strokes behind the leader at 1-under. Allenby is currently tied for eighth place with a three day total of 212 (68-71-73). Diego Velasquez had four birdies during the third round and finished with a 4-over 217 (71-72-74) and is currently tied for 18th. Vincent Johnson is tied for 30th after shooting a 74 during the third round and Alex Williams is tied for 34th after shooting a 75 in the third round. Tyler Simpson dropped into a tie for 55th with a three day total of 230 (74-77-79). Oregon State starts off the final round at the Pac-10 Championship teeing off at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday and is paired with Stanford.
