Softball Falls to No. 8 Arizona

Tucson, Ariz. The Beavers left seven on, collecting three hits as they fell to No. 8 Arizona 13-1 on Sunday afternoon at Hillenbrand Stadium.
Oregon State’s record now sits at 26-25, 4-10 Pac-10, while Arizona improves to 31-15, 8-7 Pac-10.
Junior (Tustin, Calif.) and freshmen (Beaverton, Ore.) and (Vista, Calif.) chalked up the hits for the Beavers.
Arizona took an early 7-0 lead behind eight hits, including two multi-run home runs after two innings.
Oregon State picked up its lone run in the top of the third after sophomore (Chula Vista, Calif.) was hit by pitch, stole second and scored on a throwing error by catcher Callista Balko.
Sophomore (Eugene, Ore.) was charged with the loss after pitching 0.2 innings, putting her record at 17-19, while Arizona’s Taryne Mowatt earned the complete-game win with her record now 19-11.
Oregon State heads back to the OSU Softball Complex to host Oregon to wrap up the Dodge Civil War Series on Tuesday, Apr. 29, at 3:00 p.m.
