Robinson to Throw Out First Pitch at Series Opener

CORVALLIS, Ore. Newly hired Oregon State men’s basketball coach Craig Robinson will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Friday’s series-opening baseball game between the Beavers and 10th-ranked Stanford at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. The game will begin at 5 p.m. PST, and Robinson will throw out the first pitch approximately 10 minutes prior.
Following his appearance on the mound, Robinson is scheduled to head to the radio booth for a conversation with Oregon State play-by-play man Mike Parker during the game. Friday night’s game, as well as the entire series, can be heard on the Beaver Sports Network, Beaver Nation Online () and Yahoo! Sports.
Robinson was introduced on Monday as Oregon State’s 20th head men’s basketball coach after two seasons at Brown, where he won more games (30) in his first two years than any other head coach in Brown basketball history.
The first-year Oregon State head coach led a turnaround for the Brown program, guiding the squad to a school-record 19 victories during his second season. Robinson also led the Bears to their fourth ever post-season tournament berth, competing in the inaugural College Basketball Invitational. Brown posted an 11-3 Ivy League mark, second best in school history and good for second place in the conference standings.
