Travelin' with the Beavs: Getting Adjusted

Tuesday was a pretty uneventful day. The main goal was for everybody to get their bodies used to the time change. With the Beavers competing in the NCAA Championships’ preliminary round at 1 p.m. ET on Thursday (meaning warm-ups begin at 10:45 a.m.), it seems like a reasonable goal.
This blogger and his road roommate (assistant coach ) found a nice mom-and-pop restaurant and enjoyed a good southern breakfast. A platter of biscuits and gravy with an egg on the side and large glass of O.J. ran $4.35! That seems like quite the deal for a full meal.
The team took a brisk walk from the hotel to campus, a few blocks over, and wandered about taking in a few sites in the beautiful morning sun. Upon the return to the hotel, the Beavs gathered in the hotel’s gym to stretch and ensure that all of their muscles are still working after sitting on the plane all of yesterday.
The main excursion for Tuesday was a trip to the mall! The shopping appeared to satisfy the Beavers quite a bit of merchandise from Charlotte Russe and Pacific Sun will be returning with us to Corvallis on Sunday.
Phone interviews were conducted in the afternoon with The Oregonian, KBVR and Mike and Jon at JOE RADIO.
We’re no longer alone here in Athens. Today teams from Utah, Florida, Oklahoma and Michigan arrived to share the Hilton Garden Inn with us.
Tomorrow brings an early morning for the official practice day and the NCAA Championship press conference. Last week, a sign was hung at home, in the Gladys Valley Gymnastics Center, saying “Strictly Business.” Tomorrow will be a business day and the Beavers will go to work.
Look for a feature about in Wednesday’s Oregonian. Kevin Hampton from the Gazette-Times is also expected to have a commentary in Wednesday’s paper about the Beavers and the NCAA Championships.
Also worth noting, a new with photos by Rick Perozzi was added today to the osubeavers.com website from the NCAA West Regional Championships recently.
