Men's Basketball Hosts Concordia on Saturday

CORVALLIS, Ore. The Oregon State men’s basketball team returns to action this week as the Beavers close out the exhibition portion of the schedule when they host Concordia (Ore.) University on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 7:00 p.m.
Oregon State enters the final exhibition contest after capturing an 80-76 win over Saint Martin’s last week.
Omari Johnson and Seth Tarver each recorded double-doubles in the victory as Johnson led all players with 18 points and 12 rebounds in the victory while Seth Tarver added 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Five players scored in double figures in the win as Daniel Deane scored 15 with Lathen Wallace and Josh Tarver each scoring 10 points.
For the contest, Oregon State held a decided 45-33 advantage on the boards en route to a 26-7 edge in second chance points while holding Saint Martin’s to 45.5 percent from the field (30-of-66).
Concordia, a NAIA school and member of the Cascade Collegiate Conference, opened the season with a 115-82 victory over Multnomah.
Matt Ochs paced the team with 11-of-13 shooting for a career-high 22 points while Steven Vaughan recorded a game-high 26 points off of 10-of-16 shooting.
The Cavaliers finished 15-15 a year ago while posting an 11-9 mark in league play.

Following the contest against the Cavaliers, Oregon State opens the 2008-09 season when the Beavers travel to Washington, D.C. to face Howard on Friday, Nov. 14, at 4:00 p.m.
