Men's Hoops Falls in OT to Montana State
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) Rickey Claitt had a career-high 21 points to lead Oregon State; however, Montana State rallied to force overtime and captured a 82-79 win over the Beavers in action from Gill Coliseum on Wednesday night. With the loss, Oregon State falls to 0-4 on the season.
Will Bynum led the way with 23 points for Montana State (2-2) as Bobby Howard added 20 points for the Bobcats.
Oregon State was in control for most of the contest as the Beavers shot a season-high 58.7 percent (27-of-46) from the field.
Omari Johnson missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer that would have tied the score. Four Beavers scored in double figures on the night as Roeland Schaftenaar had a career-high 18 points with Johnson and Josh Tarver scoring 12 apiece.
Oregon State will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 30, as the Beavers travel to Fresno, Calif., to take on Fresno State at 2:00 p.m
