LaVonda Wagner Returns to FSN Northwest Sunday

This is Wagner’s second year behind the microphone for FSN Northwest and the third game this year. She also will work the Aug. 11 contest against the Washington Mystics.
Wagner has helped the Beavers exceed expectations in her first two seasons at OSU. In 2005-06, her first season as head coach, she made an immediate impact as the Beavers made a 10-game improvement from the previous season and went 16-15 with a Women’s NIT berth. She was named OSU’s Women’s Sport Coach of the Year by the Corvallis Gazette-Times and The Oregonian listed her as one of its top 25 most influential people in sports for the state. Last season, Wagner directed one of the youngest teams in the country, with five freshmen on a nine-person roster. OSU went 9-19 overall and took eighth place in the Pac-10.
Wagner and her exciting OSU team will return to the legendary Gill Coliseum hardwood in October for the start of practice for the 2007-08 season. Look for more details about the team and schedule in the coming weeks.
