Eric Moala Liava'a

2007: Moala (MO-alluh) Liava’a (Lee-uh-vah-ah) is one of the hardest hitters and one of the strongest individuals on the team...once again in the linebacker rotation. 2006: Eric made nine tackles for the season...made his lone career interception against HAWTH PERSONAL: Born in Compton, California...son of Talite and Toilose Moala...fluent in Spanish...paints his face black prior to each game...has nine siblings...his oldest brother Tevita lettered at OSU (1999-2000) as a linebacker...Tevita is best remembered for scoring on a fumble return against California in ’99 for the game-clinching score and the victory that ensured OSU’s first regular season winning record since 1970...spent two years on an LDS Mission in Guatemala between high school and college...arrived at OSU after last playing in a football game as a senior in high school in December of 2000 did not attend school in the 2001-02 academic year, served his mission in 2002-2003 and 2003-2004, and arrived on the OSU campus in time for spring ball in 2005...chose OSU because of the “coaching staff, football program and the learning environment”...majoring in Spanish.
