2007: Weis (pronounced Weece) is an excellent special teams contributor and will look to continue in that role this season...has played several positions since joining the program. 2006: Daniel played on special teams. 2005: Weis came to OSU as a running back/linebacker prospect...worked out with the tight ends in the spring...a player who could make an impact on special teams and be a key scout team player. 2004: Redshirt...sidelined during much of early fall practice with an injury.
REGIS: Daniel lettered and started three years at linebacker and running back for head coach Luke Buchheit...two-time all-state and All-Tri-River Conference selection...for his varsity prep career he rushed for 2,661 yards and made 176 tackles...as a senior he had 1,551 yards and 106 tackles...he scored 15 touchdowns as a senior and 30 for his career, including one on a kickoff return...team captain as a junior and senior...had a standout game as a senior against Dayton, rushing for 201 yards and three touchdowns, and scored another touchdown on a 32-yard reception...lettered four years on the baseball team and helped the program capture two state titles...three-time all-state and four-time all-league on the diamond...also lettered one year in basketball.
PERSONAL: Born in Stayton, Oregon...son of Jerry and Sally Weis...has two brothers, Bryan and Jon, and two sisters, Mary and Sarah...member of the National Honor Society...majoring in housing studies.
