A.D. Report -- The Fever

May 23, 2007
Know about “The Fever” yet? Maybe you’ve heard about it on the radio or seen something about it in the paper. If not, don’t worry. You’re bound to come across it soon. The Fever is our new marketing campaign aimed squarely at expanding Beaver Nation by selling more football season tickets.
This is an exciting time to be able to focus our marketing efforts and build on our recent athletic successes such as last year’s historic football season and NCAA baseball title. The timing is right to maximize on the increased interest in Beaver athletics to bring new fans to our nation. In 2006, we had approximately 22,500 football season ticket holders. With determination, I believe we can grow that number.
So what does that mean exactly? The Feveran integrated campaign created by Citrus Marketing in
I’ve made no secret about the need to increase our season ticket base and wrote extensively about this in . Through increased season ticket sales and the associated donations, more opportunities for our student-athletes and more successes will occur. This is a win-win all the way aroundfor our student-athletes, coaches, fans, and the entire university.
“The Fever” represents the first coordinated, well-executed and integrated marketing campaign Beaver athletics has ever had. This means that you’ll see and hear elements of the campaign on many different media platformsfrom radio and newspaper advertising to web sites and collateral materials such as brochures, posters, and schedules.

Radio spots have already been airing on several stations and print ads appear on our web site as well as in the Portland Tribune newspaper and on its web site.
The Fever focuses on one of the key strengths of OSU sportsour student-athletes. These are quality peoplegood students and citizens. We can all identify with these types of kids.
Take note of The Fever. It appears that more folks are catching it as new sales are pacing 5 percent better than the same time last year. If you don’t have The Fever yet, get it. We have ticket packages that don’t require donations, including our popular . Or pool your resources with some friends, get some great Club seats, and split the tickets among your group.
