BASF Celebrates 2007 Fund Drive Accomplishments - Oregon State University Athletics

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Beaver Athletic Student Fund celebrated the accomplishments of the 2007 Annual Fund Drive Saturday with volunteers from as far away as Texas in attendance. The drive generated a record $9.9 million during the seven-week campaign with the assistance of 65 volunteers who reached out to nearly 7,050 donors.

“It is truly amazing the success that 65 volunteers can have during a few short weeks. They are without a doubt the team behind the teams!,” said Linda Hurd, Assistant Athletic Director for Development.

Donations help fund opportunities for nearly 500 student-athletes at Oregon State University. Out-of-state tuition is expected to increase to approximately $28,400 in 2007-08, while in-state tuition will be $16,600.

During Saturday’s celebration several awards were presented; Lee Klampe was inducted into the BASF Hall of Fame and Jerry Braunberger received the Gene Hansen Most Inspirational Award. Braunberger was also named the fund drive’s MVP after raising $766,000.
