Thomson Places 11th In 1,500 At Pac-10 Meet - Oregon State University Athletics

STANFORD, Calif. - Oregon State’s Holly Thomson finished 11th in the women’s 1,500 meters as the Pacific-10 Track and Field Championships concluded Sunday at Cobb Track and Angell Field. Thomson’s time in the finals was 4 minutes, 36.74 seconds.

“I’m really proud of Holly for making the finals as a sophomore,” OSU head coach Kelly Sullivan said. “She tried to run with the lead pack and was close to her top time.”

Hayley Oveson, OSU’s other competitor on the final day of the meet, finished 27th in the women’s 5,000 meters in 18:33.38.

“Hayley has been struggling with an allergy problem,” Sullivan said. “I hope the ladies learned a lot this weekend. We are optimistic and excited about the future.”

OSU’s Lauren Denfeld will compete in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase at the NCAA West Regional Championships on May 25-26 in Eugene.
