OSU's Vincent Johnson tied for first at PGA Minority Championship

PORT
Johnson (
“To only make one bogey really helped me put myself where I am after one round.” Johnson commented after the first round. “I really needed to play position golf today. Typically my game is to hit it long, but I only hit one driver today. I needed to be strategic, and that’s not typically my game but it worked out today. A lot of the tees were moved up so the course played a little bit shorter. Tomorrow I’ll have to play it by ear and see what the course gives me. The key tomorrow will have to be getting the ball in position for two putts for par.”
Johnson and Frazier are paired together for the second round and will tee off at 8:40 am Saturday.
