In the Varsity 8+ six of the 13 boats competing are ranked in the top 20 according the Poll with USC claiming the top national ranking, California is at No. 8, UCLA is No. 10, Washington is No. 16, Stanford at No. 18 and Oregon State is No. 20.
“It’s going to be a really tough race, that goes without saying. There is enough parity across the country now that most of the regional regattas are a pretty big deal. There are six ranked boats and the ones that aren’t ranked are fast too. It’s going to be hard to make the final, but we are ready for a hard race.”
A weighted points system taking the results from the order of finish in the V8+, 2V8+, N8+ and V4+ races determines the conference team champion.
