Softball's Natalie Johnson Earns First Team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 8 Honors

CORVALLIS, OR – Oregon State senior outfielder earned prestigious first team CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 8 honors on Thursday. With the first team accolades, Johnson is now eligible for academic All-America honors.

Johnson, from Lake Oswego, OR, leads No. 15 ranked Oregon State with a .331 batting average. Her 17 stolen bases rank second on the Beaver single season charts and her team-leading 14 sacrifices rank third in the OSU single season record book. Johnson holds a 3.71 GPA as a Psychology major and has been accepted to graduate school.

She is the third Beaver softball player in the past two years to earn CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District honors and the fifth Oregon State student-athlete this year to be recognized.

In order to be nominated for Academic All-District and All-America honors, a player must be a starter or significant reserve, must have a 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and must have completed at least one full academic year at her institution. Voting is done by member of CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America).
