Women's Golf Starts Strong in Stanford

STANFORD,
Shooting a 1-over-par 72 and leading the Beavers with the low score was junior Jessi Gebhardt. The 72 puts Gebhardt in a tie for sixth place heading into tomorrow’s action. Sophomore Martha Burkard also had a solid round for the Beavers shooting a 3-over-par 74 that leaves her in a tie for 14th place.
“Overall we played pretty good,” said head coach Rise Lakowske. “The scores look pretty good, but we still could have played a lot better. Jessi was a couple under-par for awhile and Martha was 1-under for awhile and they finished at 1-over and 3-over so we could have some really good scores there. The rest played pretty good too, but we just need to make some putts and do a much better job on the par-5s to make a move tomorrow.”
Leading the tournament is No. 19 ranked
