No. 18 Men's Rowing to Host No. 4 Stanford

“It’s nice to have a race close to home for us,” said head coach Steve Todd. “It helps the guys to be more focused on their everyday routine and really prepare themselves to race.”
Races will feature the Varsity 8+, Junior Varsity 8+, Novice 8+ and Varsity 4+. Competition begins at 9 a.m. with the JV8+ taking the water first for the Beavers.
The Card has become a familiar opponent for the Beavers this season. The team’s V8+ and N8+ met in April at the San Diego Crew Classic. Stanford got the edge on the Beavers in the Grand Final of both races.
“Our guys always look forward to racing Stanford,” Todd said. “We haven’t done as well in the past couple years as we would have liked, but for us it’s another chance to race a top five team in the country. It will be a real test for us.”
The teams will be racing on Dexter Lake’s 2,000-meter course that begins at the covered bridge on the east side of the lake running down two full buoyed lines northwest towards the OAR boathouse for the finish line.
