Allenby, Gebhardt Earn Pac-10 Golf Honors

CORVALLIS of the Oregon State men’s golf team and Jessi Gebhardt of the women’s squad have each earned All-Pacific-10 Conference honorable mention honors.
Allenby (Langley, B.C.) is on pace to have one of the best seasons in Oregon State history. With a likely spot in an NCAA Regional yet to come, Allenby is averaging 71.94 strokes per round, which would set the school record. He has finished below par in five of his six spring tournaments. At this week’s Pac-10 Championships in Eugene, he shot a 1-under 287 and tied for 14th place. Allenby is a junior at OSU who is in his first season here after transferring from UTEP.
He is the first OSU men’s golfer to earn All-Pac-10 honors since 2003.
Gebhardt (Bellingham, Wash./Bellingham HS), a junior, led the team with a 76.65 stroke average, which ranks fifth in school single-season history. Gebhardt had three top 10 finishes this spring before placing 45th at this week’s Pac-10 Championships. She improved her scoring average by more than 2 ½ strokes over the previous season.
The last time an OSU women’s golfer earned All-Pac-10 honors was in 1999.
