Spring Practice Report (Day 14) -- Rudy

A new walkon joined the team at the Tommy Prothro Football Complex Wednesday as the Beaver football squad held its final practice before the annual spring game Saturday. The new member was Rudy Riley, a very athletic looking safety-like, uh, creature. Rudy is the family dog of the Riley’s and it appears he would do just fine in pass coverage.
There were some laid back moments today, especially when defensive line coach and offensive line coach switched things up. It was quite an entertaining drill and the offensive linemen enjoyed the role reversals. had no problem blocking Kyle Devan, but “Ole’d” . looks like he can block and is fairly quick as a pursuer.
The Beavers ran two-minute drills to end practice. was intercepted by early in the drill, but then made a nice hookup with . guided the team to a pair of scores, passing to twice. made a nice deflection on one of the touchdown passes, but the ball still managed to get through to Powers.
