Oregon State's eighth-ranked gymnastics team returns to the NCAA Championships this week for the second year in a row. The Beavers compete in the Thursday afternoon (1:00 p.m.) session of the team preliminaries hosted by the University of Utah at the Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City.
The Beavers look to continue peak as the season winds down to its conclusion this month. A string of high scoring performances continued recently at the NCAA South Central Regional Championships with OSU chalking up a score of 196.075 to surpass 196-points or better for the seventh time in the last eight meets. Last month the Beavers broke the 197-point barrier for the first time since 2004 as the Beavers outperformed Cal State Fullerton 197.100-192.750 in OSU’s home finale.
Oregon State, which reached the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row, competes against No. 1 Florida, No. 2 Georgia, No. 3 Alabama, No. 6 Nebraska and No. 10 Oklahoma for the right to advance to the Super Six with the top three finishers from each session moving on.
