Men's Golf 9th after two rounds of Pac 10 Championships

The Beavers shot a 736, well back of tournament leader, USC who shot a 700.
James Allenby had an outstanding day for the Beavers, shooting a 1-under-par 143 on the day and stands in a tie for 10th going into Tuesday’s round. Diego Velasquez is one stroke back with 144 and is tied for 19th. Tied for 34th is Vincent Johnson with a 147. Alex Willams carded a 150 and is tied for 46th. Paul Peterson is tied for 52nd with 153.
“We got off to a fairly good start.” Coach Brian Watts said on Monday. “We were in a good position when we got to the front side where the difficult par-3’s are, and par-3’s are usually our strength. We really struggled on those holes. We had a hard time commiting to the shots; we kept putting balls in the water. We have a lot of work ahead of us. Basically, we just have to play the par-3’s better tomorrow and we’ll be fine.”
