Beavers Send Two Teams To Compete This Weekend

After a great showing for the Oregon State University Women’s Track team at the Willamette Opener two weeks ago, the Beavers will split the squad between two different meets this weekend. OSU runners will compete at either the Oregon Preview, hosted by the
The Linfield Invitational begins at 12:00 p.m. Friday March 16th. OSU runners competing at the Linfield Invitational include: sophomores Samantha Godfrey, Lorene Young, and Jenny O’Connor and junior Chelsea Pullen. Running unattached for the Beavers are junior Holly Mishler, and freshmen Jackie Brown, and Megan Hibner. The Beavers are entered in the 800m, 1500m, and 3000m steeplechase events.
The Oregon Preview starts at 12:15 p.m. Saturday March 17th. The team traveling to the Oregon Preview consists of senior Julie Garcia, juniors Ashley Francis, Rebecca Mishler, Noelle Harer, Jean-Marie Peterson, Lauren Denfeld, Elise Aschwanden, and Neoma Palmer, sophomores Sylvia Veal and Holly Thomson, red-shirt freshman Katelyn Van Brunt, and freshmen Krista Stangel, Holli Dieu, and Hayley Oveson. The Beavers will be competing in the 800m, 3000m, and the 4x400m relay. Running unattached is junior Katie Dye. OSU has runners entered in the 1500m, 800m, 3000m, and 4x400m relay at the Oregon Preview.

“We are a different team and a different program than we have been throughout the past couple years,” OSU head coach Kelly Sullivan said. “I want them to head to each meet focused on competing tough and not worry about times. We have been doing some great training for April and May in mind.”
